Meeting Week 3 - 10th of October

Today we had our first crit - this crit was for the evaluation of our site survey and analysis info - as well as inital sketch designs for our concept.

Some of the points from the crit sheets to address:
- Concept diagrams ideas - not strong yet - what about algae and seaweed?
- Let the area flood - protection should be at the rear.
- Site Survey images are fuzzy - pixellated.
- Topography makes the river access difficult - something to address.
- Alkaline - prone to flooding - SWOT - too many words (woops).
- Create Barking wetland centre - look at Barnes wetland.
- Look at parc bit in the book - sustainable architecture.
- Indicative grade at this stage - C.
- Concept diagrams - not resolved - too Bauhaus.
- Where are the eye-sore its?
- Good site survey info.
- SWOT process - too much time spent on this part of the presentation (apologies - panic set in - cue waffling) - I guess why next time we need to be more prepared - to prevent people like me from talking - for the sake of talking.
- Diurnal rhythms of the river - could be interesting to celebrate here.
- A more carefully structured presentation would have helped.
- Many ideas with high aspirations - interesting to see how they will be developed.

Need a site photo - aerial photo - birds eye plan from digimap. Who is in charge of getting this for us?

Industrial evolution as the slogan?

Single celled organism as the concept diagram?

Ideas:
Science Park - green industry - expand flooding - need flood maps for next week.

Work on but do not over focus on the slogan/soundbite and concept diagrams.

Focus on the concept and design development.

Science Park.
Park bit - Richard Rogers.

Find precedents and develop ideas for the Science Park - Amy.
Floating housing - Toby.
Industry/ green energies - Simon.
Green corridor - Liz.
- Wetlands - Janelle.
River Flooding - Irene.
